Storm & Sanitary Sewers
  • The Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of the gravity-fed sanitary sewers in the City of Fairfield.
  • The Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of the storm sewers.
  • There are approximately 55 miles of sanitary sewer and 1150 manholes that belong to the City.
  • The City has a combination jetter vac sewer truck that aids in the cleaning of the sanitary and storm sewers.
  • The City attempts to get through the sanitary sewer system cleaning schedule once every four years. 
  • If you have a plugged sewer you can call the public works office at (641) 472-4750 during their regular business hours (7:00 am – 4:00 pm; Monday – Friday) or you can contact the law center after hours.
