The members of the Fairfield City Council are elected by the voters of Fairfield and serve for four-year terms. There are Five (5) Wards represented by one council member each, and there are Two (2) At-Large positions as well.
The Fairfield City Council serves to administer and enforce the rules, regulations, policies, and budgets affecting all Fairfield departments and operations.

First Ward

The first ward is represented by Ron Adam.
I attended grade school in Pleasant Plain, Iowa, graduated from Fairfield High School and had been self employed (Owner / Operator - Auto Electric) in the city of Fairfield for 41 years. I spent 1958 to 1961 in the U.S. Army stationed in the United States and Germany. I am now retired and look forward to "Giving Back to the Community". I have been active in member in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elk's Club, Lion's Club and the Walton Club. My wife Kay and I have two children, Polly and Peter, both live in the Des Moines area. I love antique shops. City Council is a challenge, and I love challenges.

Second Ward

The second ward is represented by John Revolinski.
John Revolinski has been a Fairfield resident for since 1980. He is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin and a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. John is the Director of Recruiting for the Computer Professionals Program at Maharishi University of Management, and also serves as program director for the Jefferson County Tobacco-Free Coalition. His wife, Christina, is a sales associate with ERA Fairfield Real Estate, and son, Donny attends Maharishi University of Management.

Fourth Ward

The fourth ward is represented by Martha Norbeck.
Martha Norbeck is a native of Iowa City, Iowa. She has been working full-time in Fairfield as a green designer for Cypress Villages since January of 2007. She began working with green building projects in Fairfield in 2004. She earned a B.A. Degree at Smith College in Massachusetts.
She tried on several careers while living in Washington D.C. - including working for an author, a Congressman and lobbyists – finally settling on environmental science. Research of Swedish Ecovillages on a Fulbright Scholarship inspired the decision to pursue a Master of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma, thereafter, she returned to Iowa City to work with the commercial architecture firm, Neumann Monson.

Fifth Ward

The fifth ward is represented by Daryn Hamilton.
"In 1988 I moved to Fairfield to work for the Jefferson County Engineer as a Technician. In 1993 I began work for the Iowa DOT as a Right of Way Technician drawing acquisition plats and writing legal descriptions. In 2001 I was promoted to Senior Engineering Technician as a member of the District Design Staff. My wife Tammy and I have two children, Elizabeth and Michael. A favorite quote is, "The problems that exist in the world today cannot be solved by the level of thinking that created them." Albert Einstein. We need forward thinking people in all levels of government, and I am honored to be a part of this City."

Susan Silvers serves at large.
I’ve lived in Jefferson County my whole life. My husband, Tom, and I have two daughters, Whitney and Taylor. Having spent 20 years in the financial services industry, I am currently a Regional Consultant with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc.
Having raised my family in Fairfield, it’s important to me that the City continues to prosper. Fairfield has so many things to offer, including a wonderful place to raise children. It’s my pleasure to serve the citizens of Fairfield as an At-Large Council member

Myron Gookin serves at large.
Myron Gookin was born and raised in Fairfield, Iowa. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1976, attended Iowa Wesleyan College for two years and transferred to Iowa State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1980. He thereafter graduated from Drake University Law School with a Juris Doctorate in 1983. He has practiced law with Foss, Kuiken, Gookin, & Cochran, PC since 1983. He is married to Ann, a middle school English and Reading teacher, and has three children. He is active in many church and community organizations. He has served continuously on the City Council since he was first elected in 1998.
