City of Fairfield Iowa Council Chambers

Mayor Ed Malloy, City of Fairfield, Iowa.

The Mayor presides over Fairfield City Council meetings.

 Fairfield City Hall
112 S. Main
Fairfield, Iowa
641-472-6193

The Fairfield City Council meets each January-November on the 2nd and 4th Monday at 7:30 p.m.  December meetings are usually held only once during the month, by prior agreement of the council members.

Fairfield has a mayor/city council form of municipal government.  The mayor is elected for a two year term.  Council members are elected to four-year terms and serve either one of five wards or one of two at-large positions, whichever applies to the individual council member.

The public may request to be on the agenda by requesting a form from the receptionist during the week prior to the Monday meeting.  Special requests to be heard may be made by the Mayor at his discretion for items not previously announced to the public and media, pending council approval.

Council meetings are videotaped by Fairfield Public Access Channel 9 and rebroadcast the following evening.  Other rebroadcasts may occur during the following week.

Browse the areas to the left for more detailed information about the Fairfield City Council, the members, agendas, and other information.
