The following statistics about the Fairfield Police Department are provided for your convenience. 

2002

The Fairfield Police Department closed 2002 with 13,654 calls for service.  This is an increase of 1,261 calls from the 12,393 recorded in 2002.

Criminal investigation reports were up significantly warranting the expansion of our Criminal Investigation Unit.  With this increased manpower more resources are available to aggressively pursue and prosecute those involved in criminal activity.

During 2002, 608 criminal charges resulted in 483 adult arrests.  Juvenile crime remains relatively low.  During 2002, 99 criminal charges resulted in 75 juvenile arrests.

Overall, reportable crashes remained the same.  Reportable crashes for 2002 were up slightly over 2001.  Reportable crashes numbered 141 with 1 fatality and 26 personal injuries.

Traffic citations issued during 2002 numbered 1,892.  Sixty-two were for drunken driving.
