Fairfield Public Library
1853-2009
History: Fairfield was the first Iowa town to offer library services to its residents. Established in 1853, the Fairfield Public Library was first housed in a rented room off the town square. The Carnegie building on the corner of Washington and Court streets became its home in 1893. In May of 1996 the library moved to its present location on 104 West Adams St.
Services include: books, magazines, reference materials, maps, videos, DVD, Book on CD, music CD's and cassettes, high-speed internet consoles, Sick Kid Kits, Storytime for preschool and toddler, special events, movie line, and much more! _______________________________________________________________
